This year marks the 60th anniversary of 1959: the year that changed Jazz. Numerous flagship albums were released this year, cementing it as important period of time in the history of Jazz and a key creative peak in the genre. The 59:60 series at The Blue Arrow Jazz Club looks to pay tribute to a selection of these era-defining albums as part of our Thursday Night Jazz series featuring some of the most exceptional young talent Scotland has to offer. Each night, our resident musicians will tackle one classic album in full, followed by a second 'jam set', giving fans an opportunity to watch future Scottish Jazz greats tear it up in the spirit of the pioneers who paved the way.
